COURIER OF YOUR ROUTER
Your router will be delivered via courier to the address of your choice. The tracking number can be provided on request. The router will arrive before the installation of the fibre takes place. Please keep the router safe until the installation team arrives. They will plug it in after the Fibre has been installed.
FIBRE INSTALLATION
The scheduling team will be in contact with you to book the time and date for your installation to take place. Please be aware that the installation of the fibre from the street to the ONT in your property could take up a couple hours depending on the complexity. The ONT should be installed in a central location in the property, and the client is to inform the installation team of the location. Refer to bottom of page 6 for tips on where to place your Wi-Fi router.

FOUR TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR WI-Fl
connecting-ont-icon1
KNOW WHERE TO PLACE YOUR WIFI ROUTER
Position the WiFi router near the area that will be used the most in the home or business. The router needs to breathe. Avoid placing the router on the floor, cupboard or near items which give off high heat. The higher up the router is placed, the better. Cordless phones, baby monitors and microwaves could affect the WiFi signal, as such make sure the router is not close to these devices.

DIFFERENT DEVICES SUPPORT DIFFERENT WIFI FREQUENCIES
Older devices work on the 2.4GHz frequency, while newer devices use the faster 5GHz frequency. There could be high congestion in the area from your neighbours’ WiFi using the 2.4GHz frequency, so using the 5GHz frequency will alleviate this congestion on your signal strength.

KNOW WHEN TO USE WIFI & WHEN NOT TO
Using a direct ethernet/Lan cable is the best for getting the most out of your line speed. Try connecting all stationary devices with the ethernet cable, and only use the WiFi for portable devices such as mobile phones and tablets.

OPTIMISE YOUR WIFI NETWORK
WiFi is amazing but not magic. If your home is large or has a layout that is to intricate for a good signal (IE many walls blocking the WiFi signal) we recommend that you install additional access points. This is to give your signal that extra reach to cover the entire home and business. Alternatively you could use a Meshed WiFi network to boost the WiFi signal to cover the entire house and business.
Please note WIFI is not guaranteed- if it doesn’t cover your entire property, please see below options to extend the WIFI range. This will be quoted and installed at the clients cost and completed by a third party installer. We can recommend one of our trusted partners.

Each Access Point will need to be connected with a ethernet cable to the fibre router. These cables will extend the internet to the Access Points, which converts it into wireless signal, giving you a more stable and faster wireless experience.

MESH DEVICE

Only the first mesh device will connect with a ethernet cable to your fibre router. The rest of the access points will connect to each other wirelessly, creating a mesh network. Positioning of these devices are very important to get the best Wi-Fi coverage in your house.
